Numbers Out Today - Ipswich Town News

On trial keeper Javier Sanchez Broto could make his first appearance in a Blues' shirt this evening at Southend. Former Celtic man Broto arrived in Town last night and will meet Joe Royle this morning.

The Town boss will take a look at the Spaniard who he will probably field in the first half of a game where he is planning to use two teams in order to give everyone a run out.

Drissa Diallo will play his first match in a Town shirt while a host of youngsters - the likes of Dean Bowditch, Garard Nash, Antonio Murray, Chris Hogg and Aidan Collins - will all be involved at some stage.

Missing will be Matteo Sereni who remains in Italy having apparently lost his passport. Joe Royle says that the club will not consider any disciplinary action at this stage, although if he doesn't return soon he could face a large fine.

Ipswich Town First (http://www.ipswichtownfirst.co.uk), the newly-formed Supporters Trust, will be leafleting at the game and acting committee members will be available for conversation regarding the organisation.


Town's squad numbers for 2003/04 are now expected to be released today, although a number of them are already available.

Andy Marshall retains the number one jersey for the moment at least while Chris Makin moves to Jamie Clapham's old number three. Drissa Diallo and Thomas Gaardsøe are the Blues' five and six respectively with Matt Holland's eight going to Tommy Miller.

Matt Richards is now the number 14 which suggests that Jermaine Wright may have got the vacant number 11 jersey.
