Saints Start for Reserves - Ipswich Town News

Town's reserves will begin their season proper on August 20th with a home game against Southampton (2pm). The match is likely to be played at Playford Road, one of a large number of second string games expected not to be hosted at Portman Road.

The Blues are awaiting confirmation from the Saints regarding that they are happy with the game kicking off in the afternoon at the training ground.

Last season the Portman Road pitch was badly affected by the sheer number of matches played, something the club seem to be keen not to repeat this time around.

It is likely that all the home reserves fixtures between mid-November and mid-February will be at either the training ground or a local non-league venue such as Ram Meadow in Bury or Woodbridge Town's Notcutts Park.

The reserves begin their pre-season campaign this evening when they face Framlingham Town at their Badingham Road ground (KO 7.45pm).
