Santos Signs! - Ipswich Town News
Former Grimsby centre-half or midfielder George Santos has signed a three-month deal with Town. The 32-year-old is seen as cover for the injured John McGreal and Thomas Gaardsøe, and will join the rest of the squad for the Scandinavian tour.
Town boss Joe Royle told the club site: "With John McGreal recovering from his knee injury and Thomas Gaardsøe picking up an ankle problem, I wanted to bring in someone else to help us at the back."
The 32-year-old joins on a free transfer and met up with the touring party at Gatwick this morning.
One familiar face to the French-born Cape Verde international is Marcus Bent who was briefly at Sheffield United at the same time as him.
