Santos Transfer Anger - Ipswich Town News

The transfer of Georges Santos has ruffled a few feathers at his old club Grimsby, after he hadn't told his previous employers that he'd joined Town.

While it was widely expected that the Cape Verde international would leave the recently relegated club, it seems that he forgot to tell the Mariners of his new arrangements.

The former Supporters' Player of the Year joins Town on a three-month contract, an arrangement that clearly irritated his former Chairman who said on Mariners Net: "To the best of my knowledge, he has not advised us as such despite our offer of a contract, of long-term duration, and we are very disappointed that, having trained with us for so long, he did not find it necessary to advise us of this before he did it, or even take it into account our offer.

"We are disappointed for the football club and for our manager and for our supporters, but we do wish him every success in the future and trust that after the three months he may find life is not as green on the other side of the fence and may wish to talk to us again".
