Armstrong Interest - Ipswich Town News

Three clubs are reported to be interested in taking free transfer-listed Alun Armstrong on loan. One of those is said to be former boss George Burley's Derby County.

Armstrong is surplus to requirements at Portman Road and is also amongst the higher wage-earners. The Blues have a large selection of strikers, Darren and Marcus Bent and Pablo Couñago are the current starters while Martijn Reuser and Dean Bowditch are also involved in the first team squad.

Joe Royle admits that there are parties interested in loaning the former Stockport player: "We have a had a number of clubs asking about taking Alun on loan. There has been interest but nothing stronger than that at the moment."

Stoke City and Rotherham are reported to be the other clubs wanting to take Armstrong on a temporary basis.
