Town chairman David Sheepshanks has said that George Burley's Derby have shown interest in Blues' striker Alun Armstrong. The former Stockport player is available on a free transfer.
Sheepshanks says Geprge Burley's side aren't the only side who have enquired: "It is not just Derby who are interested in Alun; there are other clubs who are keen.
"Alun has a slight strain but has come back this season fit and sharp and I'm sure it will not be long before he has found the right club to go out to."
Armstrong is one of the club's higher earners, something which may scupper any potential move. A switch to Coventry fell down earlier in the summer due to their wage limit of £2,500 a week.
The former Boro player has a hip injury and could be unavailable to Joe Royle on Saturday. Marcus Bent is a slight worry with a back injury while Aidan Collins is having his tonsils out today.
Better news is that Georges Santos and Chris Makin are over calf and thigh problems respectively.
