Becks Praise for Town - Ipswich Town News
England skipper David Beckham had praise for Town fans after his side beat Croatia 3-1 at Portman Road on Wednesday night.
The Real Madrid star says that he enjoys his visits to Ipswich and hopes the Blues gain promotion: "This may not be a massive stadium but it's a special one. I was sad to see Ipswich come out of the Premiership and I hope they can get back this season, I really do.
"Every time I went over to take a corner the fans nearby really roused me with their encouragement. It really was a great night and the result was a big boost for us."
Beckham opened the England scoring with a tenth minute penlty and sent in a fine cross for Michael Owen's goal in the second half.
