Academy Season Starts - Ipswich Town News
Town's academy U19s will get their season under way on Saturday morning when they face Stoke City away from home. The U19s are Town's only academy side this season with player numbers down due to the exodus over the last year or so.
Many of the older players eligible for the U19s, sponsored this season by the EADT, will be regulars in the reserves and it will be a young U19s side which is often fielded this season.
Two of Town's youngsters have been involved a victorious Irish side at a Hungarian international tournament. Goalkeeper Shane Supple and defender Michael Synott were both in the squad which drew with Slovakia, beat Israel and then Hungary before overcoming the Czech Republic in the final.
