Forestry Commissions - Ipswich Town News

Town seem likely to field a 5-3-2 formation for tomorrow's game with Nottingham Forest. Straight into the side come new signings Jermaine Wright and this week's new boy from Tranmere John McGreal. On the bench will be new goalkeeper Mike Salmon, however there are several notable absentees. Most serious for Town is the continuing thigh problem preventing Jim Magilton from taking his place in the side for at least Saturday. Also out with injuries are Adam Tanner (knee still), Titus Bramble (shin) and Marco Holster (ankle). Fabian Wilnis has recovered sufficiently from the ankle problem that hampered him earlier in the week.

Some may be surprised to see that Sean Friars isn't included in the squad. The Northern Ireland U21 international impressed many with his performance against Peterborough, and with Holster out injured and Petta off to Celtic, Friars is Town's only out and out left-sided midfielder. Also missing from the squad is Swedish short-term signing Jonas Axeldal. Full squad: R Wright, Wilnis, Clapham, Thetis, McGreal, Venus, J Wright, Holland, Stockwell, Johnson, Scowcroft, Naylor, Holster, Brown, Mowbray and Salmon.

Despite being left out of the Town squad Sean Friars has been included in the Northern Ireland U21s playing France on August 17th.

David Sheepshanks is set to name the club's first Chief Executive next week. Sheepy returns from holiday for tomorrow's game and will begin going through the short list then.
