Samways in For Walsall - Ipswich Town News
Walsall have been handed some good news ahead of tonight's visit to Portman Road with the FA clearing Vinny Samways to play after previously being suspended.
The former Tottenham man was sent off recently gaining a one-match ban, however it had been thought his subsequent tirade at referee Paul Taylor had led to a further ban. However, this is not the case and he will resume his place in the Saddlers' midfield.
One man not at Portman Road this evening will be chairman David Sheepshanks who will be away on a family holiday in the Mediterranean.
Town will be looking to gain their first win of the season and take themselves off the bottom of Division One. The last time they found themselves in a similar position was 39 years ago when after a defeat at Norwich on Saturday, 5th September, 1964 Town stood bottom of the old Division Two on one point. Manager Jackie Milburn resigned on the following Tuesday.
