Share Approval Expected - Ipswich Town News
Town are confident of acquiring the 75% shareholder approval required to introduce the share issue, despite having to extend the deadline for another two weeks. The postal vote has so far yielded 55% support with at least another 20% expected to follow suit during the remainder of the month.
The deadline for the submission of the shareholder votes passed yesterday but has been extended to September 29th. However, a Town spokesman told TWTD that this is not a matter of serious concern: "We've had every indication that we will acquire the full 75% and more.
"However, the extension in the deadline will allow some of our shareholders the time to complete their paperwork.”
The share issue is expected to take place in October with no delay currently planned despite a report elsewhere to the contrary. However, should the team's position in the league remain as it is, the club could opt to put it back.
