Kuqi on Bench at Watford - Ipswich Town News
Town manager Joe Royle has said that new loan signing Shefki Kuqi will be on the bench at Watford on Saturday. Earlier today the 26-year-old agreed to join the Blues for three months.
Royle told the club site that he is a player he rates highly: "He is a big, powerful, quick player who has all the attributes I like in a striker.
"At 6ft 2in and 14 stone, he has a big presence in the penalty box that I feel we have been lacking this season.
"With his ability, I am confident that Shefki can also play alongside any of the strikers we have at this club.
"He has not trained with us yet, obviously and will start on the bench against Watford on Saturday."
Kuqi, who will wear the number 32 shirt, was originally targeted by Royle last December when he was looking for loan additions to his squad. He also tried to sign him in the summer but at the time Wednesday were keen to keep hold of him.
The Finn is well-known to Willie Donachie, Royle's assistant having worked with him during his time at Sheffield Wednesday.
