Town not in for Lua Lua - Ipswich Town News

Town manager George Burley has said he is not interested in Colchester's Lomano Tresor Lua Lua. The Blues boss said that although he had put in an offer last season he was no longer interested in signing the Zairean player. Burley added that he was only interested in bringing in players who would fit straight into the team and that Lua Lua was not in that category.

It now seems certain that Bobby Robson will tempt Steve Whitton with a £1 million plus offer bringing the young star to Newcastle.

Yesterday's link in the national press suggesting that Town were one of a number of clubs after the signature of Hibernian's Didier Agathe can also be ruled out. The French striker is said to be in talks with Celtic and is likely to sign today.

Titus Bramble made his debut for the England U21s as the trounced their Georgian counterparts 6-1. Bramble played the first half of a game where Howard Wilkinson made a lot of changes. Unfortunately for Titus the Georgian goal came after he was dispossessed by an opponent when embarking on one of his trademark lopes upfield. Sadly the England U21 defence didn't cover to the same degree of efficiency of our defence and the Georgians scored. Other than that he gave his usual solid display.

Town chairman David Sheepshanks continues his recovery in hospital. He apparently enjoyed a comfortable night and is likely to be out of hospital in the early part of next week. His condition was said to be possibly serious had he not sought treatment, although not life threatening. TWTD wishes him a speedy recovery.
