Kuqi Denies Jibe at Owls - Ipswich Town News
On-loan striker Shefki Kuqi has denied saying that his club Sheffield Wednesday and former side Stockport were poor sides. The Finnish international was reported to have made the comments after Town's win at Watford last weekend.
A newspaper story claimed that Kuqi had said: "I have played for two poor teams in Sheffield Wednesday and Stockport County and now I'm pleased to be with a club which plays good football."
The Kosovo-born player, however disputes this: "I never said I played in two poor sides. I said I played before in two teams who were always at the bottom of the table.
"Everybody knows about Sheffield Wednesday. Obviously they've got a problem with the money.
"And obviously they're trying to play really good and get back in the highest level that they can."
Kuqi hopes to make his move to Town permanent at the end of his three-month loan spell.
