Former Town defender Frank Yallop could be set to become the new coach of the Canadian international side. Yallop, who played 52 times for Canada, is currently head coach at MLS side the San Jose Earthquakes.
The 39-year-old is yet to apply for the post but the Canadian Soccer Association are understood to want Yallop to take over from former boss Holger Osieck.
Yallop himself himself says he is keen on the position but at present has his mind focussed on guiding his club side to the final of the MLS Cup on November 23rd: "I would be interested. I know there has been interest in me from Canada, but right now I am not interested in talking about it. The time is not right."
The Canadian Soccer Association expect to announce the identity of their new manager in mid-December.
Another former Town man, full-back Bruce Twamley, is the head coach of the Canada U23 side.
