Town After Tavlaridis? - Ipswich Town News
Arsenal defender Efstathios Tavlaridis' agent says that Town have spoken to him regarding the 23-year-old Greek's availability. The Blues were first linked with the ex-Elpida Provata and Iraklis Saloniki player in September, although at the time this was refuted by Joe Royle.
Agent Clive Hart says he was in contact with Town last week: "I can confirm I did speak to Ipswich again on Friday. Efstathios proved his capabilities again when playing for Arsenal in the Carling Cup against Rotherham.
"A couple more clubs are interested, and I expect him to be heading for the Nationwide League Division One within a week or two."
Tavlaridis has made five full appearances for Wenger's side, including a league debut against Southampton last season.
He also had a spell on loan with Portsmouth last year, starting three games (plus one as sub) for Harry Redknapp's side.
Back in September Joe Royle said he has been impressed with Tavlaridis but wasn't interested in him: "He's a good player, he was at Pompey on loan last year and played in Arsenal's reserves down here a few weeks ago. But he's not one I have enquired about."
