Makin to See Specialist - Ipswich Town News

Experienced defender Chris Makin is set to see a hip specialist. Makin picked up a thigh injury in August and hasn't recovered as quickly as was expected.

The ex-Sunderland, Oldham and Marseille man made an abortive return to reserves action last month but was only on the field for 14 minutes before limping off.

Guinean central defender Drissa Diallo has had his knee operation and is expected to be back in line for a return to action at Christmas.

There is better news regarding Pablo Couñago's hamstring injury. The Spaniard is now expected to be out for up to a maximum of four weeks rather than the month-plus previously suggested.

Continuing their comebacks in the reserves on Wednesday are John McGreal and Martijn Reuser. The Town second string face Fulham at Woking's Kingfield Stadium (KO 7pm).

Reuser is still some way off a first team recall but McGreal may be in line for a return against Sheffield United after sitting on the bench at Derby last Saturday.
