Reserves Thrash Fulham - Ipswich Town News

Town's reserves went goal crazy for the second time in a week on Wednesday night when they beat Fulham 6-1 at Woking's Kingfield Stadium. Dean Bowditch notched a hat-trick, Sam Morrow a brace and Alun Armstrong one as Steve McCall's lads romped home.

Bowditch put Town ahead before the break and then added a second just after half-time and Armstrong added the third.

Lewis Price allowed a 45-yard shot to beat him to make the score 3-1 but Bowditch added his third and Town's fourth of the night.

Sam Morrow came on as a sub with just 10 minutes left and scored twice, one with his first touch.

The watching Joe Royle, who picked up his Manager of the Month award for October at a lunch yesterday, will have been impressed with Steve McCall's men, particularly those on the way back from injury.

Most notably, John McGreal came though without a problem while Aidan Collins looks to be over his ankle injury.

The return to fitness of those two - and loan midfielder Alan Mahon - means that Royle will have a wider choice of players when the senior side face Sheffield United next week.

Dutchman Martijn Reuser also came through unscathed after his groin problem, although he is still considered some way from a return to first team action.

The only bad news on the injury front was a knee injury to midfielder Matt Bloomfield.
