Brescia After Sereni - Ipswich Town News

Serie A side Brescia are reported to be targeting former Town keeper Matteo Sereni. The Italian glovesman has had a poor start to his Lazio career and could well become available to his former loan club.

Sereni left Town in the summer for the Rome side but a 50% sell-on means his movements are of great interest to the Blues.

The 28-year-old signed a two-year deal with Lazio in August, which means it is likely any immediate move would be a loan.

Sereni spent 2002/03 successfully on loan at Brescia but the Rondinelle were unable to afford to sign him permanently when the season ended.

With Angelo Peruzzi out injured Sereni has been in goal for the Biancocelesti recently, but he was heavily criticised for his errors in the 4-0 loss at home to Chelsea and their 2-0 derby defeat to AS Roma at the weekend.

The deal which took Sereni away from Town also means that the Italian side will play two friendlies at Portman Road in the next two years.
