Robson Gets Caps Back - Ipswich Town News
Former Town manager Sir Bobby Robson has had his stolen England caps returned. The 13 caps were taken form his Ipswich home last March.
Robson, who was distraught at their loss, revealed that they were back in his possession at the weekend: "I'm delighted to announce the return of my missing international caps.
"It's a great relief to have them back, and I'd like to thank the police, the Football Association and the media for their help in recovering the caps, which are of special value to me and my family.
"I'm happy to say they're in good condition, although I'm unable, in the circumstances, to discuss the exact nature of their recovery."
Robson, capped 20 times by England, now plans to lend the caps to Newcastle United for display in a planned museum at St James' Park.
