Town striker Alun Armstrong is a doubt ahead of Saturday's home game with Sheffield United. Armstrong was substituted in the reserves' goalless draw against Portsmouth last night.
The former Stockport and Boro player bruised his lower back during but his condition has improved overnight.
His condition will be assessed on Thursday before any decision is made regarding his availability for the visit of Neil Warnock's side.
