Lester's Spastic Outburst - Ipswich Town News
Sheffield United striker Jack Lester looks set to face an FA charge after describing Saturday's referee Mick Fletcher a "spastic". Lester was booked for repeatedly diving during Town's 3-0 victory over the Blades.
A clearly incensed Lester seethed: "The ref's a spastic. He was very weak and very poor and he and his linesmen were determined to make Ipswich win.
"But we couldn't do anything about it because the ref refused to talk to us during or after the game. He's just a weak individual.”
Lester's comments are likely to lead to a storm of protest from charity organisations as well as the football authorities and he can expect a ban.
This isn't the first time the former Grimsby man has been in trouble after facing Town. Last season, while a Nottingham Forest player, Lester was banned for three games after headbutting Jim Magilton.
