Alan Mahon, Tommy Miller, John McGreal and Alun Armstrong are the senior players involved in Wednesday's reserve game at home to Chelsea (7pm).
Mahon will hope to come through the game OK after hamstring and flu problems, and could be involved at Cardiff on Saturday.
Striker Armstrong returns to action after hurting his back in last week's second string draw at home to Portsmouth.
John McGreal continues to get games under his belt after his lengthy absence with knee and back injuries.
Freed defender Chris Hogg will be looking to impress any watching scouts.
