Turner Confirms Kuqi Free - Ipswich Town News
Sheffield Wednesday boss Chris Turner has confirmed that his club have agreed to allow Shefki Kuqi to join Town without an initial fee. Earlier in the week TWTD reported that the Finn would join Town for nothing with the Owls receiving cash if the Blues are promoted.
Turner says: "Something could possibly happen before the weekend. It's down to Shefki, his agent and Ipswich.
"I wouldn't disclose the transfer fee. I'm not saying he'd leave on a free transfer. There would be rewards for Sheffield Wednesday if he joined Ipswich, not necessarily immediately, but something would be in the offing."
Reports in Yorkshire at the time Kuqi joined the Blues on loan suggested Town would have to pay £250,000 for the Kosovo-born striker's services. This seems likely to be the amount due should Joe Royle's side reach the Premiership in May.
