Westy Signs New Deal - Ipswich Town News
Midfielder Ian Westlake has signed a two-year extension to his contract, keeping him at Portman Road until 2006. Westlake has cemented his place in the first team squad of late, scoring two goals.
According to manager Joe Royle the Clacton-born 20-year-old has been a been a fine deputy for Alan Mahon: "Westy has been fantastic for us since he came in for Alan and that is no mean feat considering how popular Alan is here.
"He gets around the pitch well and has already shown that he can score goals. He is another big plus for the academy here."
Westlake has been at the club since he was a nine-year-old.
