Miller Gets Scotland Call - Ipswich Town News

Town midfielder Tommy Miller has received a call-up from Scotland boss Bertie Vogts. The Scots are using next Wednesday's friendly at home to Turkey as a chance to look at one or two younger players.

Miller was born in Easington in the north-east of England but qualifies for Scotland through his grandparents.

Vogts says he is looking to the future with his inexperienced line-up: "This match marks the first stage of our World Cup campaign, as it gives these players a chance to show what they can do.

"Our young players need international experience, and for those players not involved in the Champions League or UEFA Cup, this is a great opportunity to get that experience."

Squad: Craig Gordon (Hearts), Scott Shearer (Coventry), Derek Soutar (Dundee); Steven Caldwell (Newcastle United), Gary Caldwell (Newcastle United), Jamie McAllister (Livingston), Lee Mair (Dundee), Graeme Murty (Reading), Andy Webster (Hearts); Peter Canero (Kilmarnock), Kevin Harper (Portsmouth), Michael McIndoe (Doncaster), Tommy Miller (Ipswich), Nick Montgomery (Sheffield United), Scott Murray (Reading), Scott Severin (Hearts), Gareth Williams (Nottingham Forest), Ian Murray (Hibernian), Stephen Pearson (Motherwell); Kris Boyd (Kilmarnock), Paul Gallagher (Blackburn Rovers), Lee McCulloch (Wigan), Steven McLean (Rangers), Garry O'Connor (Hibernian).
