Joe Welcomes Miller Call - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Joe Royle has welcomed midfielder Tommy Miller's call into the Scottish squad for next week's friendly at Dundee against Turkey. Miller was given a fair amount of stick by his team-mates at Tuesday morning training after the news broke yesterday.
Royle says he expects the call to give Miller confidence: "Tommy McMiller! I'm pleased for Tom. It's been a difficult season for him thus far. I said to him this morning he's got to make sure the second half of the season makes up for the first,
"Tommy was struggling to find his form early on and then got injured. We know there is plenty left and it will be like having a new player in the second half of the season.
"The call-up should be good for his ego, his self-esteem. The recognition should be great for him.”
Miller scored his third goal of the season — all penalties — at Cardiff on Saturday.
