Karic Receives Clearance - Ipswich Town News

Amir Karic, Town's latest signing, has received his work permit and will be in the squad for tomorrow's game at Millwall. The Slovenian will be sorting out the remaining red tape today and is expected to sign on the dotted line so he can make his debut at the New Den. Town manager George Burley said of his new signing: "He has a lovely left foot and is very dangerous at set plays." I think we've been needing someone like that for a while haven't we?

Richard Naylor continues his progress to full fitness tonight when he takes part in the reserve game at Southampton. The game at Southampton's training ground kicks off at 7pm. Naylor travelled to Leeds at the weekend but was not involved in the squad and needs a few more reserve game before being considered for senior selection. Wayne Brown will have a fitness test on his strained thigh, but is hopeful of starting the game at Southampton. Full squad: Pullen, Niemi, Nicholls, Moffat, J Miller, Brown, Logan, Abidallah, Niven, Friars, Midgley, Naylor, Subrin, Artun, Chibogo, Ambrose and Snowdon.

The Academy teams had mixed results at the weekend. The U17s won 1-0 at West Ham while the U19s, with many injuries, went down 2-1 at Southampton. The Town gals came from Matt Richards (U17s) and Darren Bent for the U19s. The next fixtures are Saturday when both sides take on Crystal Palace at Bent Lane.
