Town Draw Sunderland - Ipswich Town News
Town have drawn Sunderland at home in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The tie will be played on either January 24th or 25th.
The Blues previously faced the Black Cats in the FA Cup at the third round stage in 2001, Sunderland winning 1-0 at the Stadium of Light.
The game will see former Town striker Marcus Stewart return to Portman Road for the first time since his departure to the North-East in August 2002.
Town full-back Chris Makin is a former Sunderland player, but is unlikely to be fit for the tie as he is still recovering from his recent thigh operation.
Earlier in the season Town lost 3-2 in a close game at Sunderland in the league.
The Blues also face Sunderland in the FA Youth Cup fourth round, again at Portman Road, on January 28th (KO 7pm).
