Pablo Given Goal - Ipswich Town News

Town's second goal in the 2-1 win against West Ham on Boxing Day has been confirmed as Pablo Couñago's. Both the Spaniard and Martijn Reuser claimed the goal and it went to Football League adjudication.

Town and the Hammers both gave the goal to Couñago in their official reports but referee Barry Knight felt that the ex-Celta Vigo man had not got a touch on Reuser's long distance effort.

However, Knight decided he was wrong after watching a video tape of the game. Couñago now totals 11 goals for the season.

This is the second time that Knight has changed a decision affecting Town. In early 2001/02 the Orpington official rescinded the red card he had shown Matteo Sereni after the keeper's brush with Robbie Savage in a 1-1 draw at Leicester.
