Collins Out of Cup Clash? - Ipswich Town News
Central defender Aidan Collins could miss the FA Youth Cup clash with Sunderland on January 28th (Portman Road, 7pm) due to the red card he picked up in the U19 draw with Wimbledon on Saturday.
Town are waiting on the referee's match report and confirmation of the dates of Collins's absence. The Academy management felt the decision was harsh but will not be appealing.
The 17-year-old is one of the Blues' most impressive youngsters and would be missed if not involved against the Black Cats.
Town are already without fellow central defender Gerard Nash who recently underwent a cruciate knee ligament injury and who will not be back in action until pre-season of 2004/05.
The Blues beat Leeds 1-0 at Elland Road in the third round, Daryl Knights scoring the winner in the last minute of extra-time.
