Dheedene Link Renewed - Ipswich Town News

Town are again being linked with Anderlecht defender Didier Dheedene. The Belgian was first linked with Town on September 10th and the story seems to be a re-hash of that rumour. Southampton are also linked with the 28-year-old defender and he is rated at £1.5 million.

Town manager George Burley slammed his side's performance at Millwall last night. The Blues manager said: "We are very disappointed at what was our worst display of the season. There are still 90 minutes to go and we can pull it back but it will be very difficult to get two goals back. But an early goal could make all the difference."

Town's number 32-shirt Hermann Hreidarsson said of the display: "It was a totally unaceptable performance from a Premier League team. Maybe we were all on a high after doing so well at Leeds but no disrespect to Millwall we should be able to beat teams in the Second Division."

Skipper Matt Holland came on as sub at half-time after failing to start for Town for the first time since his transfer from Bournemouth in 1997. Holland was rested because of his ankle which has been hampering him sonce the Manchester United game. George Burley said that he had hoped to rest Holland, but that circumstances meant that he had to get him on the pitch for the second half. Holland made quite a difference to the side when he came on and went close to scoring.
