Ely-born 18-year-old Scott Mitchell is on standby to replace Martijn Reuser in the squad for Saturday's game with Crewe, should the Dutchman not get over his stomach bug.
Mitchell, a full-back or midfielder, made his senior debut in the 2-2 draw away at Derby in November.
