Nabil Joins Northampton - Ipswich Town News

Northampton Town have signed Town midfielder Nabil Abidallah on a month's loan. As TWTD previously reported, Cobblers' director of football John Deehan watched the Town reserves in their 2-1 defeat to Wimbledon on Wednesday night.

Former Spurs defender Colin Calderwood is manager at Northampton and he remembers the 21-year-old from his playing days: "Nabil played against me when I was at Spurs and we have struck a very good deal with Ipswich.

"He will come over and join the squad but he will have to work hard to force his way into the team. All the midfielders are doing well at the moment but he has good pedigree and he can look at us, and we will look at him."

Abidallah joined Town from Ajax in the summer of 2000 but has made on three senior appearances as a sub in that time. He is available on a free transfer and his contract is up at the end of June.
