After yesterday's tale claiming that the Blues are interested in one Jason Kreis today sees stories circulating that we are set to give two other Americans, 17-year-old Bobby Convey and Chris Albright, trials. Different stories contradict one another, but it seems the DC United players are going to train with both Town and Newcastle and have been sent over by Frank Yallop who is DC United coach.
One report claims that neither would get a work permit in order to play in the UK and that they will only be here to gain experience and play in exhibition matches. That seems very strange and makes you wonder quite why Town or Newcastle would be doing this.
Another report suggests that the players are to have trials and may join the Academy at either club if they should impress. That sounds a bit more like it, although as with most of these rumours, take them with a pinch of salt until we've heard quotes from the club.
