Town boss Joe Royle is continuing to search for a loan player, but says that a new signing might be as far as two weeks away. Royle has been targeting a frontman and failed in a bid to land Reading's Shaun Goater two weeks ago.
Royle says that none of the moves on transfer window deadline day affected his plans: "Nothing that happened in the Premiership transfers made any difference to us. But that was not the only factor and things could still happen.
"I was on the phone again to a couple of people but we are still nowhere near bringing someone in at the moment - but you never know how quickly that can change.
"It may even be a couple of weeks but we will keep badgering away.”
