Bent Expected Whistle - Ipswich Town News

Town striker Darren Bent has admitted that he was surprised not to hear a whistle after his clash with Bradford's Mark Bower in the move leading up to Ian Westlake's goal on Saturday.

Bent, who laid the ball into the midfielder for the Blues' second of the afternoon, says he made contact with the Bradford defender: "Yes, I hold my hands up and admit touching their player. Perhaps he went down too easily. The linesman had a perfect view."

The England U21 subsequently wrapped up the game in the second half and was happy with his strike: "The third goal came straight off the training ground and we have been working all week on our shooting."
