WBA Targeted Marshall - Ipswich Town News
Town manager Joe Royle has revealed that fellow promotion hopefuls West Brom made an enquiry regarding keeper Andy Marshall. Meanwhile, Royle is continuing his search for a loan player.
West Brom targeted Marshall as regular keeper Russell Hoult recently picked up a back injury. After hearing that Marshall was away on loan at Millwall, Albion boss Gary Megson signed veteran Sheffield Wednesday stopper Kevin Pressman on loan.
Royle says that Saturday's home win against Bradford has made no difference to his own loan hunt: "I would still like to take one of the two players in whom I am seriously interested.
"It is still a question of waiting to hear from manager whether or not they are in a position to allow the players out on loan. But we have until March and the deadline day if necessary."
