Academy Pair Released - Ipswich Town News
Academy duo Marc Smith and Erkan Okay are being released. The pair have both had injury problems over the last year or so and have seen other players progress ahead of them.
Academy director Bryan Klug says that Town are aware of sides who might want to take Smith - the son of academy coach Ian Smith - and Okay: "Erkan and Marc are looking for clubs and there has been interest from several clubs already.
"Erkan and Marc have been injured. Marc has had broken bones in his neck and back. It is tough when you are out injured because other players come through in your position."
On Friday Town announced that striker Sam Morrow has been made available on a free transfer.
