Reserves Lose - Ipswich Town News

Town's reserves fell to a 1-0 defeat against Coventry City at Nuneaton Borough's Manor Park ground. Liam Nicell scored the Sky Blues' winner in the 75th minute.

The main concern for Town fans was Chris Makin's progress after his hip operation and subsequent painkilling injection. The ex-Sunderland, Oldham and Marseille man lasted 45 minutes before being replaced by recent signing Jerome Sobers.

Town's best chance of the game came when central defender Aidan Collins had a header cleared off the line by scorer Nicell just after the hour mark.

Coventry's goal came via a Whing cross from the right, Nicell heading over a number of Town defenders and into the net.

Town picked up three bookings, Aidan Collins, Scott Mitchell and Scott Barron all getting themselves on the wrong side of the referee.

Reserves: Price, Synnott, Barron, Patten, Collins, Makin (Sobers 46), Mitchell, Kamara (Reid 76), Morrow, Bowditch, Boardley. Unused subs: Peat, Flack, Manning.
