Naylor May Miss Out - Ipswich Town News

Town boss Joe Royle is hoping he can rest Richard Naylor for Saturday's game against Watford after the centre-half played in Tuesday's game at Walsall after having two painkilling injections for a broken toe.

Royle is hoping that either Drissa Diallo or John McGreal will be fit enough to line-up alongside Matt Elliott when the Blues face the Hornets. Diallo should have had the stitches in his head removed while McGreal is recovering from a knee ligament problem.

Royle was impressed with Naylor at Walsall, despite his toe injury: "Richard was fantastic again. He is a loyal lad who loves this club. We know we can always call on him either as a centre-half or centre-forward."

The Town boss says he will give young striking duo Darren Bent and Dean Bowditch another chance against Ray Lewington's men: "The lads did extremely well against Walsall and deserve to be given another chance."

Bent scored a hat-trick and Bowditch was involved in the first two goals at the Bescot Stadium.
