Town Face Motormen - Ipswich Town News

Town will play Ryman League Ford United in a pre-season friendly on July 24th at the Motormen's Oakside Stadium in Barkingside. The game was set-up as part of the deal which took defender Jerome Sobers and Ben Patten to Portman Road from the Essex club.

The game will be an historic one for the home side as it will be the first they play under their new name of Redbridge FC.

Not much of Town's 2004/05 pre-season programme has yet been confirmed, although a friendly away against Cork City is understood to have been pencilled in.

Town will play the first of two friendlies against Lazio at Portman Road - part of the Matteo Sereni deal - and a testimonial for the late Dale Roberts is expected to take place with Newcastle the rumoured opponents.
