Brown Off - Ipswich Town News

Wayne Brown seems to be in the verge of leaving Town with reports today that both Wimbledon and Stockport want to take the centre-half on loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

Cambridge-born Brown really established himself at Town over the last two seasons, often keeping Mark Venus on the bench. However, this season has seen the amazing progress of Titus Bramble, as well as the purchase of Hermann Hreidarsson and the signing of John Scales. This has left Brown well back in the pecking order, although he did come on as sub in Town's away game at Spurs on the opening day of the season.

Brown looks certain to join one of Stockport or Wimbledon on loan soon, however a move is currently being held up by his hip problem. He is due to see a specialist today with a view to sorting this persistant problem out. If a permanent transfer does happen Town will be looking for £750,000 for the 23-year-old defender. Brown has made 21 starts for Town with a further 7 appearances as sub.
