Verheyen Decision Imminent - Ipswich Town News

Papers in Belgium today claim that Club Brugge will make a decision on whether to let Gert Verheyen join Town this evening. Verheyen himself is keen to join the Blues, but the club consider him an important member of their squad (he's the captain and top scorer) and don't want to let him go, especially given that they have already sold two high profile players already this season. However, the matter is being put to the whole board who are meeting this evening. Verheyen is currently training with the Belgian national side.

Town reserves are meeting their Forest counterparts away this evening (KO 7pm). This will give many players a chance to impress either George Burley or any watching scouts from other sides. Contractors are working this week on replacing the North Stand floodlights. This has meant the closure of Sir Alf Ramsey Way. Later today we'll be setting up a Town Topic where we can all reminisce about these most loved of lights and add all our fond memories of games illuminated by them.
