New Offer from Town - Ipswich Town News
Town may be about to make a new offer to Club Brugge for Gert Verheyen. The Belgians announced earlier today that they have turned down Town's offer, thought to be £1.5 million despite what sources in Belgium claim. Depending on which report you read it seems that Town would have to offer £1.7 million or £2 million to land the international.
Town are clearly keen on the player and the player is clearly keen on Town, as he said earlier in the week he'd be a fool not to take a 300% pay rise. After losing out on signing Hassan Kachloul and Claus Jensen the Blues must be keen to pursue this transfer further. We fully expect David Sheepshanks to restart negotiations very soon and a price somewhere between the two quoted figures as the final fee.
