McCall Sacked - Ipswich Town News
Steve McCall, hero of Town's 1981 UEFA Cup win, has been sacked by Torquay United. McCall was assistant to manager Kevin Hodges who has also been shown the door. The Torquay board made a statement: "The board of directors are sorry to announce they have terminated the contract of Kevin Hodges with immediate
effect. This decision has been taken only after much heart searching and a long,
hard look at the team's league position and performance. Steve McCall's contract has also been terminated with much regret."
Youth coach Kevin Summerfield takes over until replacements can be found.
