Kuqi Disappointed - Ipswich Town News
Striker Shefki Kuqi was unhappy to be substituted before half-time during the Blues' 2-1 win at Gillingham on Saturday. The Finnish international was replaced with Richard Naylor after 35 minutes of the match at the Priestfield Stadium.
Kuqi said: "I'm very disappointed and feel it was unfair that I was brought off.
"The whole team did not play very well first half, so to pick on me to take off was very disappointing, especially so early in the game.
"I don't know what else I was supposed to do. I was in our own box more than Gillingham's. I know I lost the ball a couple of times, but even so I should not have been taken off then."
Despite the weekend's events, the former Sheffield Wednesday man says he has a lot of respect for Joe Royle: "He is still one of the best managers I have ever had and I really like him, so I won't be going to see him or anything.
"As a player all I can do is go back on the training ground and work hard and get back in the team."
