Bent Linked to Rangers - Ipswich Town News
On-loan striker Marcus Bent is being linked in the press with a summer move to Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers. Bent's loan side Leicester were relegated back to Division One on Saturday.
Bent has another year of his Town deal left but the Blues would be keen to rid themselves of his expensive contract as soon as he returns from his loan with the Foxes at the end of June, particularly if they themselves are still in Division One.
Had Leicester remained in the Premiership then they would have taken Bent to the Walkers Stadium permanently, almost certainly on a free transfer.
Bent has said on a number of occasions that he wants to remain with the Foxes but this looks less likely now they will spend 2004/05 in Division One.
However, a permanent switch to Leicester cannot be ruled out if they were to offer him a lengthy deal which would make it worth while him turning his back on his Potrman Road deal.
Bent has had a decent season with Micky Adams' side, scoring 10 goals in 33 appearances and may well interest some Premiership clubs.
