Bent Unsure of Future - Ipswich Town News

On-loan striker Marcus Bent has admitted that he is unsure where he will be playing football next season. Bent's Leicester side were relegated last week and his season-long loan finishes in June.

Bent says he has been pleased with his time at the Walkers Stadium: "I came to Leicester to play in the Premiership because it's such a big stage, one of the biggest in the world, and it's something you dream of doing even as a kid.

"So we've obviously been feeling a bit down since relegation, it's been hard for us over the last couple of weeks, but we're continuing to try and work as hard as we can.

"We'd dearly love to see out the season in style because the weekend's game could be the last in a Leicester shirt for a few of our players.

"As for what's going on with my future, I'm not too sure because basically it's up to others, it's up to Leicester and Ipswich.

"All I can say at the moment is that I'm really enjoying it here, whether it's in the Premiership or Division One.

"And the fans have been brilliant, they've only given us stick on the occasions when we've not been satisfactory."

Leicester have already told Town they want to keep the 25-year-old if they can afford to, while Rangers and Celtic have also been linked.

Should Town still be in Division One come the end of May, they will be keen to rid themselves of Bent's high wage as soon as possible. If this were the case the front man would be allowed to leave on a free transfer.

Bent has another year remaining on his Town contract.
