8,000 Season Tickets Sold - Ipswich Town News

Town have sold 8,000 season tickets for 2004/05 with a week left of seats being available at discount prices still remaining.

Town's Ticket Office manager, John Ford, told the club site: "We are delighted at the way things are going and are receiving approximately 500 applications a day at the moment.

"We are a week behind with processing because of the play-offs but the staff are working as quickly as possible to deal with the post.

"The final date for applications at the frozen prices is May 28th and as long as supporters make sure their applications are in the post by that day, they will be accepted even if we receive them beyond the deadline."

It is looking likely that the club will get close to last year's 18,000 season tickets.

Sales for the June 16th Elton John concert are also going well. The club has now sold 23,000 of the 25,000 seats for the former Watford chairman's gig.

The success of the concert means the club will go through with plans for a number of similar ventures next summer.

Town are expected to make a six-figure sum from Elton John's Portman Road performance.
